Left Hand Labs Music is an independent music software business based in Minnesota, USA. This page explains what happens to your information when you sign up for the free Backing Track Plus download or the Left Hand Labs Music email list on https://lefthandlabsmusic.com. The short version: we collect your email address, use it to send you the download and occasional emails, and never sell it.

What we collect

• Your email address, which you type into the signup form.
• Your consent record: when you signed up, when you confirmed (double opt-in), and the IP address used, which MailerLite stores as proof that you asked to join.
• Basic email activity, such as whether an email was delivered, opened or a link was clicked. MailerLite records this automatically.

We don't ask for your name, payment details or anything else on the signup form. Backing Track Plus itself does not collect or send any data from your computer.

Why we use it

• To send you the download link you asked for.
• To send the short welcome series: setup help, practice tips, and news about Left Hand Labs Music products, including offers on the paid drum kits.
• To send occasional newsletters about new releases and updates.

The legal basis is your consent, given when you tick the box and confirm your email. You can withdraw it at any time by unsubscribing.

Who handles it

Email addresses are stored and sent through MailerLite, the email service we use. MailerLite processes the data on our behalf and may store it on servers outside your country. GitHub (GitHub Pages and GitHub Releases) hosts this website and the download file and may log standard web request data (IP address, browser type) for security. We don't sell, rent or trade your information, and we don't share it with anyone else unless the law requires it.

Buying a kit

Paid kits are sold through Polar, which runs the checkout and handles payment. When you buy, Polar shares your order details with us (such as your name, email address and what you bought) so we can deliver the kit and help with support or refunds. Cookies

This site doesn't use advertising or tracking cookies. The MailerLite signup form and its reCAPTCHA spam check (by Google) may set cookies needed for the form to work. [UPDATE IF ANALYTICS IS ADDED]

How long we keep it

We keep your email address while you're subscribed. If you unsubscribe, your address stays on a suppression list so you don't get emailed again by mistake. Ask, and we'll delete it completely.

Your choices and rights

• Unsubscribe anytime with the link at the bottom of every email.
• Ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you by emailing hello@lefthandlabsmusic.com. We'll reply within 30 days.
• If you're in the EU, UK or another region with privacy laws, you have the rights those laws give you, including the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

Kids

The email list isn't meant for anyone under 16. If you think a child has signed up, email us and we'll remove the address.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top. For bigger changes, we'll mention them in an email to the list.
